Playoff Pitching Matchup, Game Preview 9/14/11

Eastern League Playoffs (Finals)
Richmond Flying Squirrels (Daryl Maday)
vs. New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Nestor Molina) 7:05pm

GAME 2 - Flying Squirrels vs. Fisher Cats – After last night’s sloppy 10-9 slugfest the Fisher Cats look to even things up in the best-of-five finals and they are hoping that their normally stellar pitching returns via the arm of Nestor Molina….Daryl Maday gets the start for Richmond after posting a 4-10 record with a 4.47 ERA in 25 appearances (19 starts) with the Squirrels. He had only five starts from July 11th to the end of the regular season, going 2-3 with a 4.20 ERA. Maday was solid in game 1 of the Squirrels first round series against Harrisburg as he picked up the win after going 7 innings in which he allowed no runs. Nestor Molina will be tasked with trying to stop the Fisher Cats from heading to Richmond down 0-2. He was amazing in the regular season, spreading a 12-3 record and 2.21 ERA over time spent with Class-A Dunedin and New Hampshire. Molina did pick up the only loss in the Cats first round series versus Reading after he allowed 6 runs (2 earned), in three innings of game 2.
