Game of the DayRock Cats vs. Curve - New Britain halted a three game losing streak with a 6-1 win over Altoona last night. The Rock Cats are 4 ½ games behind first place New Hampshire in the Eastern Division and making a run at the division title might be their best path to the playoffs as the Wild Card race is a six-team logjam. New Hampshire native, and Eastern League All-Star, Jeff Locke gets the start for Altoona. The left-hander has struck out 95 batters on the season, sixth most in the league. Locke ranks in the wrong end of the Top 10 for both ERA (4.62) and WHIP (1.43). Matt Schuld gets his third start for the Rock Cats since being called up from Fort Myers at the beginning of the month. Schuld allowed 5 runs in each of his prior two starts, but tossed a scoreless inning of relief with three strikeouts between those outings. In 10 innings he has struck out 9 and walked 7…Altoona pitching has allowed only 283 walks on the season, the second lowest total behind Harrisburg’s 257…The Rock Cats' Chris Parmelee is having his best month of the season, batting .299 with 6 home runs and 20 RBI.
