7:05pm
Lowell Spinners (Luis Diaz 1-1, 4.50)
vs. Aberdeen IronBirds (Parker Bridwell 1-2, 3.00)

Game of the DaySpinners vs. IronBirds – The Aberdeen IronBirds have only 3 wins on the season…one of them was a 2-1 win over Lowell last night which snapped an 8-game losing streak. Parker Bridwell is one of the only Aberdeen pitchers with a mark in the “W” column and his 24 strikeouts is tied for second best in the NYPL. Tonight the 19-year-old Bridwell gets his fifth start for the IronBirds, but that one “W” came back on Opening Day, so he should be hungry to notch another. Bridwell’s counterpart is another 19-year-old righty as Luis Diaz gets the ball for the Spinners. This will be Diaz’s fourth start of the year for Lowell and to date he has allowed 12 hits and 2 walks in 14 innings of work. He has not allowed a run in his last two starts and had allowed only 4 total hits and 1 walk in those games. Last night’s matchup between these two teams turned into a nice little six-hurler pitcher’s duel. Tonight could be similar given the youth and the fact that neither of these pitchers have made it into the seventh inning of a game yet this season. Temps in Aberdeen should be in the high-80s with possible thunder storms for the 7:05pm game time at Ripken Park.
