Game of the DaySea Dogs vs. Fisher Cats – Rise and shine baseball fans! The Fisher Cats host the first of their two 10:35am games in the month of May (the other being next Thursday versus Binghamton…see you there). Will the bats finally wake up? That’s the one million dollar question here seeing as there have been four total runs scored in the first two games of this series and both winners have shutout their opponents. The lineups will get every chance to prove themselves as both starting pitchers have been pretty unreliable this season. Portland’s Michael Lee has only thrown over five innings in one of his five starts this season and has allowed 6 earned runs, 9 hits, 5 walks and 2 home runs over his last 9 2/3 innings. New Hampshire’s Joel Carreno has been the strikeout machine that he was advertised as (31 Ks in 28 2/3 innings), however no one was expecting the 20 earned runs and 14 walks…last year he only walked 30 batters in 137 2/3 innings. Thankfully I’m putting this together before I go to bed on Tuesday night, because I won’t be up in time to get it all together…hopefully the teams can!

Side note prediction (3-7) – Back on another losing streak! I’m rolling with the wake-up call game and predicting 5 or more total runs between the teams in this one. Now, can I predict when I will get to .500.
