Connecticut's Palacios named New York-Penn PotW

For the second straight week a Connecticut Tigers' pitcher has earned New York-Penn League Pitcher of the Week honors. Wilsen Palacios follows up Luis Angel Sanz with a one-start gem that went down as the best performance in the league for the period of August 15th through the 21st.

Over his last two starts he has allowed only 5 hits and 1 walk in 16 innings and has not allowed a single run. His one eligible game during the period of 8/15-8/22 came on the 18th against the top team in the league, the Staten Island Yankees, and his line from that game was:
W, CG, 0 ER, 3 H, 0 BB, 6 K

For the season Palacios has compiled a 4-3 record with a 3.51 ERA and 32 strikeouts over 59 innings. His 1.19 WHIP is eighth best in the league and he is the only pitcher in the NYPL with a shutout this season, of which he has two!

Congratulations to Wilsen on his PotW worthy outing. Palacios is now the third Tiger to get a PotW this season as Tyler Collins also grabbed honors alongside Sanz for his work with the bat last week.
