Brian Dozier has only been hanging around New Britain for half of the season, but he has made the most of his time and his efforts have just earned him the Eastern League’s Player of the Week for the period of August 1st through the 7th.
Dozier was an eighth round selection by the Twins in the 2009 draft and had played 49 games with the Class-A Ft. Myers Miracle to start the season before being called up to New Britain in June.
Here are Dozier’s stats for the week:
.520 BA, 1.218 OPS, 13 hits, 4 2Bs, 4 RBI, 1 R, 1 SB
Dozier is batting .328 in his time with the Rock Cats this year, with 15 doubles and 10 stolen bases. He becomes the third New Britain player to take PotW honors this season and the eleventh regional player.
