Game of the Day – PawSox vs. Knights – Despite being rained out on Sunday, the PawSox (64-50) have slipped into a tie for first place in the I.L. North thanks to the Durham Bulls cutting down the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (65-51). Now Pawtucket takes their 32-23 road record to Charlotte for four games. Kyle Weiland, in search of win number nine on the season, gets first crack at the Knights. He did pick up a loss against Charlotte back on June 13th when he pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed 4 earned runs on 6 hits and 4 walks. Weiland pitched well in his last outing a week ago against Louisville, allowing only 3 earned runs in 7 innings, but did not pick up a decision. Matt Zaleski gets his fifteenth start of the year for the Knights and his third straight at Charlotte Knights Stadium. He faced the PawSox back on June 12th, earning a loss but he pitched 6 strong frames where he allowed only 2 earned runs and 4 hits. Over his last 6 starts, Zaleski has work 39 1/3 innings, going 3-0 with a 1.83 ERA…The Knights took 3 of 4 against the PawSox at McCoy Stadium back in June…The PawSox 64 wins this year is only two of their season total from 2010…Lehigh Valley plays four games against the Norfolk Tides (42-72) who have the worst record in the International League.
