Game of the Day - Hudson Valley @ Tigers - If someone told you that a team could win two games with a total of 4 runs and 8 hits, you'd have to think that it was damn near improbable. The Connecticut Tigers did just that last night and after sweeping the double header against Hudson Valley (both 2-1 victories) they are now a mere 1/2 game out of first place. Although the Tigers are only 5-5 over their last ten games, the first place Lake Monsters are 2-8 and have dropped three straight, allowing Connecticut to creep towards the top. The Tigers have two more games to play against Hudson Valley to close out their nine game home stand and they'd love to do it in style by sweeping the Renegades out of town. But let's take it one game at a time, starting with tonight's battle that features Rayni Guichardo on the mound for the Tigers versus James Patterson for the Renegades. Guichardo has excelled over his last two starts, picking up wins in both, and only allowing 2 earned runs over 11 innings. Patterson is hitting the hill for the first time as a starter this season after tossing 6 innings out of the pen in three appearances. Will the Tigers bats take advantage of Patterson's limited action or will Guichardo hold down the fort once again? If Connecticut is lucky, both will happen...and if they are REALLY lucky, then they could be in first place by the end of the night!
