"It ain't like football. You can't make up no trick plays." - Yogi Berra

Yesterday's Re-cap:

In yesterday's action the PawSox split their double header, taking Game 1 by a score of 1-0 behind the arm of Daisuke Matsuzaka. On a rehab start Dice-K threw 5 strong innings, tossing 73 pitches and only giving up 2 hits and 1 walk. An Aaron Bates RBI single accounted for the only run of the game. In Game 2, the PawSox could only muster two hits and the Red Wings capitalized for a 4-2 victory. Pawtucket starter Adam Mills pitched four solid innings, keeping Rochester at bay with no runs and 3 hits. Kris Johnson (0-1) picked up the loss for the Paw Sox while Matt Fox (1-0) picked up the "W" for Rochester.

In New Britain, Brad Emaus remained hot as he homered and drove in three, leading the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 5-3 victory over the Rock Cats. Zach Stewart (1-0) dazzled, working 5 innings, allowing one run on four hits and picking up his first win with the Fisher Cats. Danny Farquhar notched up his second save in as many games. New Britain starter Mike McCardell (0-1) picked up the loss after a shaky first inning.

The Portland Sea Dogs dropped their second straight game to the Reading Phillies. Reading starter Mike Cisco (1-0) stifled the Sea Dogs hitters with six innings of solid work, leading the Phillies to a 4-1 victory. Michale Spidale carried his hot hand from Friday into Saturday's game, going 2 for 4 and driving in two runs on a single in the third. Kyle Weiland (0-1) picked up the loss for the Sea Dogs.
