Game of the Day - Buffalo @ PawSox - After much deliberation, we're going out on a limb here and picking the Bisons versus the PawSox as the GotD. Sure, none of the other local squads are in action, but that just allows us to focus all of our attention on Pawtucket. The PawSox are 6-7 in the month of August and can improve to .500 with their third straight win tonight. They can also get to .500 against Buffalo on the season as the Bisons currently lead the season series 5 games to 4. Fabio Castro will be tasked with taming the Bisons bats tonight. In his last four appearances (2 starts & 2 out of the pen) Castro has allowed only 2 earned runs in 17 2/3 innings of work. Buffalo throws Fernando Nieve at the PawSox. Nieve makes his 4th start after being DFA'd by the New York Mets back on July 23rd. Despite allowing 4 runs, 8 hits and 2 walks against Scranton Wilkes-Barre in his last start, he did pick up his only win on the year. Dustin Pedroia is moving back up to the big club and Carlos Delgado seems to have a strained back that will keep him out of lineup, so the PawSox will have to rely on the old regulars at the plate. FYI, the PawSox are 2-0 with Pedroia and 51-68 without him...you do the math!
