Game of the Day - PawSox @ Scranton Wilkes-Barre - Everyone loves a good Red Sox-Yankees matchup on any level. Tonight the PawSox trek down to Scranton to start a two game series against the AAA Yanks. This after a 4-game series against Scranton in Pawtucket, so basically we're looking at a 6-game series here and needless to say these teams have to be just about sick of each other. Scranton is currently in first place of the North Division in the International League and the PawSox are a hefty 18 games back in fourth. But despite this cavernous distance, the season series has been tight with the Yankees winning 7 of the 13 games played. Rich Hill gets a spot start for Pawtucket. In 13 appearances out of the pen he has a 1-0 record and a 3.80 ERA with 16 Ks in 14 2/3 innings. The Yankees counter with Kei Igawa, a (near) lifer in the minors since being the big club's answer to the Red Sox signing of Daisuke Matsuzaka back in 2006. Igawa is the winningest pitcher in Scranton history, meaning that he has been pitching in the minors for far too long and also that he may never get out. After watching the big boy Sox and Yanks battle this afternoon, tune into the PawSox-Scranton battle for more of baseball's greatest rivalry, just on a different level.
