Hitting the Links

The mecca that is Baseball America had a recent piece highlighting the lowlights of the New Britain Rock Cats season. The Cats are well on their way to a franchise-worst season and may end up putting their name among the few that have lost 100 games in a single season. Since no local players made the BA Prospect Hot Sheet, this is our sole Baseball America link this week, but it's an eye opener. Baseball America

I'm always curious as to how a big leaguer endures a stint back down in the minors. The Manchester Union Leader's Kevin Gray brings us into the recent rehab stint of Blue Jays All-Star catcher John Buck, who joined the Fisher Cats for three games last week. Some interesting tidbits of info in this one. Gray Matter

Some great news down in New Britain as Ben Revere may not be done for the season after all. Ken Lipshez of the New Britain Herald recently reported that the star centerfielder may be returning to the Rock Cats sometime in the coming week. Thought to be done for the year after being hit in the face by a pitch, Revere would be a welcome site for the team and the fans heading into the last few weeks of the season. New Britain Herald

The season can certainly feel like a circus to any manager, so it's nothing new for PawSox skipper Terry Lovullo to be juggling things around. It's been a long, grueling season for Pawtucket, but now they come to a critical stretch where Lovullo must find a way to come up with 6 starting pitchers in 4 days. The Providence Journal brings us int0 the maddening mind of a manager with moves to make. ProJo
