Fife wins Eastern League Pitcher of the Week honors

Congratulations to Portland Sea Dogs starter Stephen Fife who picked up Eastern League Pitcher of the Week honors for the period of June 6th – 12th.

Fife only had one outing last week, but made it count, tossing 6 1/3 no-hit innings versus the Richmond Flying Squirrels before the fun was broken up in the top half of the seventh by Justin Christian. Fife only allowed 1 hit, 1 walk and struck out 7 batters on 87 pitches in the 6-0 Sea Dogs victory.

Overall, Fife is 6-3 on the season with a 2.94 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 10 starts.

This is the second time he has picked up these honors as he was named E.L. Pitcher of the Week last season in September and was also an Eastern League All-Star. He is the second consecutive Sea Dogs’ player to take E.L. weekly honors, following Chih-Hsien Chiang who took Player of the Week honors for the period of May 30th – June 5th.
