vs. Reading Phillies (Josh Zeid 0-1, 5.74)

Game of the DaySea Dogs vs. RPhils - Portland has dug themselves out of the basement with a three game win streak and now look to tackle their early season road demons (1-4 road record) and pull their overall record to an even .500 tonight in Reading. The RPhils have the best record in Eastern League (13-7), one game up on New Hampshire, and are riding a two game win streak. These two teams split the season opening series in Portland, winning two games apiece. Reading gave Stolmy Pimentel a rude welcome to AA baseball, battering him for 5 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks back on April 9th. He is opposed by Josh Zeid who hasn’t had the best go of things in his first four starts this season, which includes a four run outing versus Portland back on Opening Day. Both pitchers are seeking their first win and they will be forced to try and earn it as Portland (.296) and Reading (.285) are 1-2 in batting average in the EL, with no other team even close (New Britain in third with .268). The Sea Dogs are hoping to keep things rolling towards the top of the standings and a win today could go a long way in keeping momentum in their favor. Plus I think that Stolmy is finally due to show off his stuff for the Sea Dogs faithful.
