Game of the DayPhillies vs. Sea Dogs – Stolmy Pimentel will get his first taste of AA action as he takes the hill this afternoon in Hadlock with some fairly high expectations. Pimentel was projected at the 6th best prospect in the Red Sox system according to Baseball America and he played in the 2010 Futures Game. The right-hander throws a mid-90s heater and he has continued to hone his repertoire each season. The Sox organization will be eager to see if his progression continues because he certainly has the stuff to help out the big club in the near future. He will be opposed by Lexington, Massachusetts native Ryan Edell who was picked up by the Phillies in the offseason after spending parts of the last five season bouncing around the Indians and A’s farm systems. Edell put up some very solid numbers last season, posting a 10-4 record and 3.17 ERA with AA Midland, and only allowing 24 walks over 147.1 total innings.
