Game of the DaySea Dogs vs. Rock Cats – It’s our first head-to-head matchup of the year and it’s the Rock Cats home opener, so this was a must pick for us. The Cats are on a 3 game win streak and are hopeful that some home cooking keeps things rolling. They are actually tied for first place in the Eastern Division of the Eastern League right now, which is already an amazing turnaround from last season’s long, miserable nightmare. At 5-2 the Rock Cats are only two wins away from equaling their April total from 2010 and Bobby Lanigan is charged with pulling them one game closer tonight. The Portland Sea Dogs come into the game all squared up at 3-3 on the year. Starter Brock Huntzinger is hoping for better results than his initial start of the season when he got rocked for 6 runs and 8 hits against Reading back on the 8th. Outfielder Alex Hassan currently holds the hot hand in the Sea Dogs lineup, hitting safely in all 6 games this season for a .500 average while driving in 6 and swiping 2 bases on 2 attempts. The Dogs are hoping that their 13 run output in their last game rolls over into tonight’s matchup, to start the first road trip of the season off on the right foot. It’s the age old enemies, Cats vs. Dogs, meeting tonight in Connecticut!
