Game of the Day – Chiefs vs. PawSox – Since I didn’t realize that Dos Cats were scrapping at 10:30am today, I’m gonna grab a game that starts after 6:00pm for the GotD. I also am interested in seeing where the Andrew Miller experiment is heading. So far he has 8 walks in 7 2/3 innings of work, but according to PawSox broadcaster Dan Hoard, the 4 walks in his last outing were a bit misleading do to a VERY tight strike zone by the home plate umpire that night (I think the 16 total walks by both teams backs Hoard here). Yet for all of his control “issues”, Miller has only allowed 1 earned run and 4 hits while striking out 7 batters and holding his opponents to a .148 batting average. Syracuse starter Ross Detwiler has gone exactly 6 innings in both of his starts and has allowed exactly one run in each of those games. He’s also struck out 12 over those 12 innings, so he’s been pretty darn consistent so far. Will Detwiler be capable of stopping the PawSox express and their 5 game win streak? Or will Andrew Miller find the zone and keep things rolling?
