Game of the DayFisher Cats vs. BMets – Last night’s game was a barn-burner between these two, with New Hampshire pushing a run across in the top of the ninth for the 3-2 victory. Binghamton has Brad Holt on the hill tonight, the #10 prospect in the New York Mets farm system according to Baseball America. Holt is in his third go’round with the BMets and hopes to keep his ERA somewhat respectable after blowing up with double-A ERAs of 6.21 (2009) and 10.20 (2010). Holt was 0-1 versus the Cats last season, but got off to a nice start with a strong outing at Akron last Saturday where he went five innings and allowed 3 hits, 2 walks and no runs. The Cats bring Chad Beck to the forefront after his recent callup from Dunedin. Beck is a big, strong righty (6’4”, 245lbs) in his 6th season of pro ball and is only now getting a taste of AA after shutting down Clearwater (5.1IP, 1ER, 4H, 7Ks) last Saturday. A win tonight will put the Fisher Cats over .500 on the season, a loss will be taxing.
