Lowell's Travis Shaw takes NYPL Player of the Week

Congratulations to Lowell Spinners third baseman Travis Shaw who was names the offensive Player of the Week in the New York Penn League for the period of June 27th to July 3rd. Shaw becomes the first representative from the three local NYPL teams to take the honors and the first non-Eastern League local player to be acknowledged for a solid week of work.

The following are Shaw's stats for the six games he played in during this period:
.409 batting average, 9 hits, 3 2Bs, 3 HRs, 7 R, 8 RBI

Shaw's week was highlighted by a 4 for 4 night against the Connecticut Tigers on July 2nd. In that game Shaw reached base six times with 3 doubles, a home runs and two walks while also driving in 5 and scoring 3 times.

For the season Shaw is tied for the New York Penn League lead in home runs (4), is tied for fourth in RBI (12) and runs (13) and is seventh in batting average (.347).
