Game of the DaySea Dogs vs. BMets – With all eyes on the tops of the divisional leader boards, we have lost focus of the basement which, per usual, has fallen into disarray. The two Eastern League Eastern Division cellar dwellers are tasked with cleaning things up in tonight’s rubber match between Portland (42-60) and Binghamton (42-62). Sea Dogs starter Stephen Fife will get fourth crack at win number 11. Fife’s last win came against the BMets back on July 5th when he went 6 innings, scattered 7 hits, allowed 3 earned runs and struck out 9. Binghamton’s Tobi Stoner gets his twelfth starts for the BMets in a rematch of that July 5th game. In that outing Stoner did not get a decision after being knocked for 10 hits and 4 earned runs… Portland outfielder Chih-Hsien Chiang continues to rake, hitting .437 with 5 home runs, 24 runs and 23 RBI in the month of July. Chiang is also in the midst of a 12 game hitting streak… BMets shortstop Jordany Valdespin is 8-19 in his last four games played against the Sea Dogs…These two teams will meet one more time in a three game series at Portland. August 19th – 21st…Portland will close out the month with a four game series in Altoona; Binghamton heads to Harrisburg for four games after tonight.

  1. Albers is making really nice progress this year. I'd love to get a shot to see this kid deal. Any thoughts from what you've seen this year Craig?
