Rochester 13 - Pawtucket 3
W- Dusty Hughes (2-0)
L- Matt Fox (4-3)
2:16
Top 7: Kyle Waldrop enters for the Red Wings in the 7th and strikes out Glugach & Khoury to end the game.
Bottom 6: Delmon Young singles to right after a Plouffe walk. Runners at the corners with nobody out and Martin scores Plouffe off a FC. 13-3 Rochester.
Top 6: Singles for Kang and Bermudez but both are stranded.
Bottom 5: Hottovy sends Rochester down 1-2-3 on 5 pitches.
Top 5: Bermudez and Lavarnway on for the Paw Sox and Dusty Hughes warms for Rochester. Khoury with an RBI single to right and the Paw Sox get one back. 12-3.
Bottom 4: Ronald Bermudez replaces Nava in LF. Hottovy gets Bates and Lambin to strike out to end the inning unscathed.
Top 4: Chuck James gets Sheely swinging, Kang looking, and Lin to fly out to right.
Bottom 3: Dustin Martin solo HR to left. 7-2 Rochester.
Toby Gardenhire with a 2 run double to left center. 9-2 Rochester. Tommy Hottovy begins to warm for the Paw Sox. Brandon Roberts 2R HR to right. 11-2 Rochester. Hottovy in. Trevor Plouffe takes 2nd pitch to dead center. 12-2. Yes, I called a pitchers duel.
Top 3: Slowey hits Lavarnway after a Nava single. His control has been mediocre at best.
Dustin Martin with a full extension diving catch in center. Unbelievable play. Chuck James warming in the Rochester pen; mound visit for Slowey.
Slowey lifted for Chuck James. Very uninspiring effort today. Khoury walks on 5 pitches and Exposito down swinging, leaving the bases loaded.
Bottom 2: Chase Lambin singles to center. Rochester with 3 singles up the middle off Fox. Toby Gardenhire walks on 5 pitches and Danny Lehmann takes the ball out to left for a 3R HR. 5-2 Rochester. Trevor Plouffe solo HR off the signage in left. 6-2 Rochester. Mound visit for the Paw Sox. This is what happens when I call a pitchers duel.
Top 2: Brent Dlugach breaks out of his slump, doubling to left center. He steals 3rd, almost standing up, as Slowey practically ignored him. Ryan Khoury singles up the middle to cut the deficit to 1. 2-1 Rochester. Luis Exposito ground rule double to DEEP center. The ball is really carrying right now. Matt Sheely drilled in the helmet by Slowey; appears to be OK. Seems like it just got away from Slowey; hard to say there was any intent there. James Kang sac fly to center, tying the game 2-2. Lin flies out to center to end the inning. Kevin Slowey is all over the strike zone so far but the Paw Sox are putting good wood on the ball.
Bottom 1: Brandon Roberts with a leadoff single. Fox working slow.
Roberts steals 2nd on Plouffe strikeout. Delmon Young lifts first pitch to left for 2R HR. 2-0 Rochester.
Top 1: Kevin Slowey gets the Paw Sox to go down 4-3, 4-3, L9. Velocity in the high 80s to low 90s. On paper, we could be in for quite the pitchers duel in game 1.
